COVID-19 Crisis Communications
Updated: Apr 7, 2021
During COVID-19, Wesleyan University—like every higher ed institution, I'm sure—maintained constant communication with its students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni. During this extended period of crisis, I played an integral role in planning, writing, editing, and posting these communications across diverse channels—emails, webinars, websites, news stories, social media, and more. We built three different websites at different points in the pandemic to educate and inform our community. The final one was Keep Wes Safe.
Though communicating during the pandemic was intense and, often, exhausting, it was also very rewarding. My favorite task was collaborating with Dr. Tom McLarney (affectionately called Wesleyan's "own Dr. Fauci") on his weekly Public Health Update emails—an important source of information and comfort to the Wesleyan community.
